In this role, you will supervise and coordinate day to day activities of production workers on a shift. You will be responsible for safety, quality, production, shipping & receiving and maintenance on an assigned shift.
Chromalloy has expanded from a gas turbine parts repair business into an OEM supplier of production parts and advance repair and services for gas turbines used in aviation and power applications. Job Description
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
- Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
- Enforces company policies, rules, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Continuous Improvement mindset
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Maintains time and production records.
- Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
- Confers with other management to coordinate production activities with other departments.
- Responsible for documenting shift incidents and accidents using the appropriate plant or corporate form.
- Responsible for ensuring the safety of all employees on the shift.
- Coordinate communications with HR; ensures employee communications at Tier I meetings
- Estimate, produce requisitions, and inspect materials.
- Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
- Work with production control personnel to ensure customer requirements and schedules are met.
- Establish Production Schedules to meet customer On Time Delivery.
- Maintain monthly OME Budget.
- Conduct formal and informal training sessions.
- Interview job applicants.
- Perform other tasks in the facility as needed.
- Develop and mentor all direct reports for optimal performance.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
The preferred EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE requirements of this position are:
- Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent education and/or experience
- 3+ years’ experience in a supervisory role within the manufacturing environment
- A combination of education and experience will be considered
- Process control experience a plus.
- Continuous Improvement success examples
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to manage a multi-process line.
- Ability to train, motivate, and direct production employees.
- Ability to work long and irregular hours in response to customer demands and production problems.
- Excellent communication & leadership abilities
