Facility Custodian job summary

The Facility Custodian is a professional that ensures a positive overall impression of the property as well as providing the necessary service of ensuring clean facilities for guests. It is essential that Facility Custodians be highly thorough and professional in completing their duties. The Facility Custodian positively represents the Resort through the daily cleaning of the established standards of cleanliness and through interaction with guests

The Facility Custodian is required to maintain a flexible schedule that includes days, nights, holidays and weekends. 

Duties and responsibilities 

• Maintain a professional appearance with a positive attitude and is adaptable and flexible.
• Is patient, helpful and is interested in the welfare of the guests and staff.
• Has great attention to detail and works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Follows staff conduct policies and time management guidelines. 
• Is organized and able to prioritize workload.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
• Able to multitask for the benefit of quality services.
• Able to work efficiently and independently with minimal supervision.
• Handles negative situations with clear thinking, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment. 
• Communicates effectively and in a professional manner to all guests, co-workers and associates of the Resort.
• Willing to cross over and assist in other areas as required.
• Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
• Effective team player who is able to work as part of a group.
• Responsible for performing a combination of tasks to maintain the premises in a clean and orderly manner. 
• Responds to emergency clean-ups.
• Job duties include but are not limited to trash removal, vacuuming and mopping floors, glass cleaning, daily cleaning of bathrooms, restaurants and office building cleaning.
• Able to safely handle and use cleaning chemicals. 
• Able to operate housekeeping equipment.

Experience

Some Facility Custodian experience is desirable.
