Position Specific Description

  • Provide support and create new features of an existing cloud based software application written in JAVA that utilizes mathematical algorithms to predict equipment failure rates based data collected from ETL jobs from a variety of sources, and also to predict team headcount needed for reliable operation.  
  • Seek opportunities to improve the architecture when necessary to reduce resources need for support.
  • Candidate will be expected to work directly with users/customers to understand user and app requirements, and develop tasks to meet customer needs.
  • The candidate will be working in a small team on-premise to be able to quickly respond to application issues when the need arises.
  • The ideal candidate must have recent experience in AWS cloud application development and be familiar in appropriate use of components such as: S3, EC2, AWS RDS, Athena Glue, Terraform, Angular/Vue, AWS Batch jobs, GITHub and GITHub Actions, modern CI/CD methods and tools.  

 

  • Position’s accountabilities include gathering application requirements, developing and supporting software solutions, and interacting and supporting customers directly.

Job Duties & Responsibilities


•   Provides full-time technical support to the operations and business unit personnel
•   Performs system testing and documentation to critical systems during significant changes and/or upgrade
•   Analyzes and identifies the root cause of - and implements comprehensive technical solutions to - complex application deficiencies and system issues
•   Provides technical leadership in the functional specification, design and implementation of new (as well as enhancements to existing) security center applications and tools
•   Develops new (and improves existing) processes with goal of increasing productivity, reducing risk of system failure, promoting efficiency in work flow, and meeting or exceeding the key operational performance targets
•   Establishes, documents and maintains procedures and guidelines related to the day-to-day operational support provided to the operations and business unit personnel
•   Travels to power plants for onsite troubleshooting support
•   Performs other job-related duties as assigned
