News Writer

Job Purpose:

Kiplinger is the leader in personal finance news and business reporting. It’s the go-to destination for personal finance information in the US providing advice on a range of topics including investing, tax, retirement planning and more.

Kiplinger is seeking an experienced news reporter to handle stories across the personal finance and business space. This person will have a background in finance or business coverage in the news space. This person must be comfortable writing multiple articles per day on a range of topics. We expect this person to have an eye for both grammar and technical information, with high standards to get information right.

Key Responsibilities:

• Write 2-6 short news articles per day
• Pitch stories based on Kiplinger’s key topic areas and observed success
• Produce stories on the Kiplinger CMS
• Write with clarity, accuracy, style and voice

What do I need to succeed?

• At least 2-5 years of digital writing experience; breaking news writing experience is a plus
• Knowledge of business or personal finance topics - we are open to hearing from generalists and those with an established beat
• Attention to detail and eye for style
• Understanding of SEO practices
• Good attitude for teamwork in the remote working world
