The Trust and Safety Product Management team is responsible for defining the strategy and priorities to ensure Etsy is a safe marketplace that buyers and sellers trust. We focus on detecting policy violative content and adversarial actors, and on crafting educational and reformative experiences for members to prevent harm from happening.
We are seeking a passionate Product Manager to help us detect content (images, text, video) that goes against our policies. We’re looking for a technical and motivated Product Manager that can lead their squad of applied scientists and machine learning engineers. This position requires running multiple sophisticated projects, using strong communication skills and partnering with cross-functional stakeholders from different backgrounds and technical levels.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Product, Trust and Safety, and the base salary range will be $154,000 - $200,000. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.
For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States. You will have the option to work office-base or flex. Candidates living within commutable distance of the Etsy New York City Hub may be the first to be considered. The Content Evaluation squad within T&S works to automatically detect and remove dangerous, inappropriate and risky member-generated content.
We work closely with other Trust & Safety partners in Design, Engineering and Operations, as well as with our Data and ML Enablement engineering teams.
What does the day-to-day look like?
You will provide leadership and help set the direction for Etsy’s suite of policy violating detection systems.
As the PM, you'll set your squad’s strategies and priorities through continuous iteration, user research and analysis, and experimentation.
You are responsible for providing requirements, defining milestones and sprints, aligning with stakeholders and removing roadblocks to keep your team focused on your goals.
You set clear expectations and ensure your squad understands what they are accountable for.
You’ll collaborate with cross-functional partners (including engineering, operations, design, and analytics, legal team, and our buyer and seller community) to gather requirements, prioritize projects, and deliver the T&S team's roadmap.
You have empathy for our end users and care about their safety on Etsy.
