As a key part of our team, an Associate Product Operations Manager at Bleacher Report will be responsible for the assisting with the day-to-day operations of our Product Operations functions. The role will work closely with these teams to ensure new features and services are launched effectively and operate successfully, providing feedback to the product teams for ongoing improvement.  The role is required to support the launch of operational features.  In this role relationship building skills and curiosity are equally, if not more important than technical aptitude, but technical understanding will be helpful. The role requires excellent written and oral communication skills and be required to navigate multiple streams of work simultaneously. The candidate will work across the entire organization.

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Start to develop operational product ownership as B/R continues to develop and roll out key new features for fans
  • Work closely with the product team to ensure that ongoing features are delivered and that all operational teams are prepared for the feature launch
  • Assist in developing and maintaining timelines for product launches as well as help prepare testing/rehearsals where needed ahead of feature launch
  • Help communicate feature launch status to stakeholders and manage expectations where operations is impacted.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve operational considerations that may impact launch
  • Identify and help manage/partner with third-party vendors, where necessary.
  • Work with business, product, engineering, and existing operational teams to tease out operational details and identify challenges before they occur.
  • In this role, early operational requirements may not be well-defined, and depending on various factors, they may change frequently. The successful candidate will maintain flexibility during uncertainty and be able to drive teams through this phase until scope is clearly defined and well understood by all team members.

Qualifications & Experiences

  • 2+ years of experience in operations or a related field
  • Strong problem solving, expectation management and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Able to adapt when faced with frequently changing and sometimes ambiguous goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across departments and functions.
  • Experience in operations
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships across disciplines
  • Nimble business mind with a focus on developing creative solutions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Acumen to communicate the impact of feature or schedule changes to teams that are potentially affected.
