Human Resources Generalist

Description

Position purpose: 

To provide courteous and efficient administrative duties to support the Human Resource Director and assist with payroll processing. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Responsible to provide efficient and courteous on-boarding activities for new hires.

· Communicate any concerns with newly hired employees with HR Manager and the HR Director. 

· Review applications received for accuracy and completion. 

· Forward approved applications for employment to hiring supervisors and maintain the applicant tracking spreadsheet. 

· Be knowledgeable of all personnel policies and procedures.  

· Be familiar with human resource best practices related to the job duties and responsibilities. 

· Conduct employment screenings of newly hired managers and supervisors. 

· Verify employment eligibility for all new hires within three days of hire and maintains accurate records. 

· Schedule meetings or interviews for the Director when needed. 

· Be knowledgeable of the current payroll provider’s operating system. 

· Answer the human resources telephone and assist applicants with questions regarding job openings. 

· Respond to requests for employment verifications. 

· Teach new employee orientation training. 

· Maintain adequate supply of uniforms and place orders as needed. 

· Maintain an accurate database of information on current employees including, but not limited to: certifications, training dates, performance, changes, etc. 

· Assist with unemployment appeals. 

· Perform payroll duties. 

· Assist the Compliance Officer when needed. 

· Obtain and maintain gaming license. 

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education/Qualifications:

· Requires High School Diploma or equivalent. 

· Previous clerical experience required. 

· Must be at least 18.

· Requires computer skills. 

Licensing:

· Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Gaming License

Work Requirements:

Shift: Full-Time | Tues - Sat (10am - 6pm) 

Requires problem solving skills, interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively, operate a desktop computer. Position involves prolonged sitting, standing or walking, stooping or bending, lifting, or carrying up to 30 pounds on a daily basis. Work is performed in an office or casino environment with varying levels of lighting, air quality, noise, and / or temperature.
