Position Summary
Participant will assist park staff at Waco Mammoth National Monument by providing accurate information on park resources, directions, special events, park safety, and by providing interpretive programs to the public. As a result, the individual placement will provide visitors an opportunity to have a safe, enjoyable, and educational park experience. The Individual Placement will be an integral member of the park’s Interpretation team by assisting in offering excellent customer service and interpretive opportunities for park visitors.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
The member will develop interpretive talks about the resources; work with schools visiting the site; develop bilingual education handouts; create bilingual interpretive materials; assist in creating educational materials to meet state standards
Marginal Duties
- The member will be able to participate in paleontological practices such as fossil preparation and screen washing.
Required Qualifications
- The member needs to be bilingual (English-Spanish), have interpretive talk development experiences, and have a background in paleontology/geology.
This SCA Position is authorized under the Public Land Corps Authority. All participants must be between the ages of 16 and 30, inclusive, or veterans age 35 or younger. Participants must also be a citizen or national of the United States or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States. Hours served can be applied toward the Public Land Corps (PLC) hiring authority.

- Experience in writing educational materials.

- 40 per week
Living Accommodations
- Housing is not provided for this position.
Compensation
- Living Allowance: $600/week
- Commuting Allowance: $24/week
All allowances are subject to applicable federal, state, and local taxes.
