Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated senior research associate to support biologics research and development focused on next-generation biotherapies for serious unmet medical needs. The candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team, conducting protein production/purification/characterization, molecular and cellular biology workflows, and protein engineering on a diverse array of biologics.Responsibilities
- Purify and characterize proteins and other biomolecules via FPLC (eg. AKTA)
- Design, optimize, and execute molecular biology experiments to support protein engineering campaigns
- Optimize and perform DNA based assays (PCR and DNA purification, quantification, and QC analyses)
- Culture mammalian cell lines and conduct transient transfections of mammalian cells for protein expression
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to advance projects
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely records via electronic notebooks (ELN's) and technical reports
- Requires a minimum of a Masters’ degree in molecular biology or related field or a Bachelors’ degree with at least 2 years of experience
- Requires experience with FPLC (eg. AKTA) in purifying and characterizing proteins and other biomolecules
- Requires expertise with routine molecular biology methods including PCR, DNA isolation, and molecular cloning
- Proficiency with SNAPgene, Graphpad Prism, Excel, or similar scientific software is required
- Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, protein purification, enzymatic assays, and protein gel electrophoresis is strongly preferred
- Experience with recombinant protein expression and purification preferred
- Experience with flow cytometry, yeast surface display (YSD), and library preparation for NGS is desirable but not require.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize among diverse tasks are a must
