Job Description
The Senior Global Publication Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, development, and execution of global publication activities across assigned therapeutic areas. This role ensures alignment with the Global Publication Plan and the overarching Medical Strategy, while upholding the highest scientific and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of the global publication plan for assigned products or indications, including HQ-driven and affiliate-supported publications
- Manage the end-to-end publication process: concept development, author engagement, internal review, and submission of abstracts, posters, and manuscripts
- Ensure compliance with GPP, ICMJE guidelines, and internal SOPs
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal, Compliance, Biostatistics, and external partners to ensure scientific accuracy and alignment
- Represent the publication function in internal and external meetings, including Joint Publication Teams with partner companies
- Maintain publication tracking systems and provide regular updates to the Global Publication Team
- Support the annual global publication workshop and contribute to the development of best practices
Qualifications
- Masters degree in life sciences or other relevant medical degree; PhD is an advantage
- At least 5 years’ experience in publication management and proficiency in publication tracking tools (e.g., Pubstrat)
- Relevant experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry (e.g., Medical Affairs/Scientific Communications/Clinical or Preclinical Sciences etc.) or a medical communications agency supporting global pharma clients
- Experience working in the U.S. or in a U.S. affiliate a must
- CMPP certification an advantage
- Ability to develop and accurately evaluate and analyse medical/scientific publications and literature
- Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Demonstrated presentation and communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
