DHT is hiring at all facilities with additional Michigan locations in Newport and Port Huron and also Bellefontaine, Ohio. DHT has several divisions including Tanker, Gravel Train, Flatbed, Van, Excavating, and Landscape Supply. DHT also operates full-service repair facilities.

Job Summary:

The Seasonal Sebewaing Dump Truck Driver will be expected to transport sugar beets for our contracted customer. The Driver is expected to deliver product safely and maintain a professional image when interacting with customers, vendors, and other drivers.

Position is a night shift, 8 hours, beginning at 10:40pm. Weekends and holidays as needed throughout the season.

Essential Duties:

• Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting goods
• Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order
• Collect delivery instructions from DHT supervisor
• Inspect loads to ensure that cargo is secure
• Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned
• Pulling levers or turning cranks to raise the trailer and dump the trailer’s contents
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the appropriate parties
• Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy
• Clean the inside and outside of trailers as necessary

Requirements

Job Requirements:

• Licensed CDL Class A Driver
• Must have an acceptable MVR

Preferred Requirements:

• Dump experience

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
• Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screen
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical
