Job Description Summary:
MaineGeneral Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Pre-Assessment Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team. In this role, you’ll perform pre-operative and pre-procedural patient assessments in collaboration with the surgical team and create individualized patient profiles to ensure specialized needs are communicated and met throughout the perioperative continuum of care. Your work will play a key role in ensuring patient safety, preparation, and a positive surgical experience.Job Description:

What You'll Do:
- Conducts required patient assessments and obtains required documentation. Schedules an/or orders appropriate testing.
- Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient testing, admission, referrals, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides preprocedural/preadmission patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Performs chart organization and review, ensures required test results and documents are included, and performs necessary follow-up with physician(s) based on results. Obtains additional orders and documents per hospital policy as necessary.
What We're Looking For:
- Current State of Maine RN license (or ability to obtain)
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
- Ability to anticipate patient needs and collaborate effectively with the surgical team
- Experience in perioperative, surgical services, or pre-admission testing preferred
