Research assistants will work in all phases of subject recruitment, enrollment, and execution of clinical trials.Job Description
Clinical Research Assistant A: Clinical Research Assistant A will perform research and administrative tasks for research projects and clinical trials within the Penn Infectious Diseases Clinical Trials Unit (ID CTU). The ID CTU consists of projects in HIV, COVID-19, and other infectious diseases ranging from phase I to IV, investigator and industry initiated, different disease states and varying complexities. Involvement in trials will range from several weeks to serving as the primary research assistant for a study handling all research assistant activities such as:
Prescreen, recruit, consent (minimal risk) and screen patients according to protocol; Schedule patient visits and any necessary testing; Organize and help maintain study documentation, includes source documentation, case report forms, research charts, and study logs; Prepare for study visits including labeling and creating visit packets; Collect and review study data; Process and ship study specimens including blood and urine; Escort patients to research visits; Participate in study team meetings and ongoing protocol training; Perform general administrative duties to support the ID CTU; Hours may include evenings or weekend as necessary.
