Medicare Part D Stars Business Analytics Senior Advisor - Hybrid

Summary

The Part D Stars Business Analytics Senior Advisor will be responsible for leading the analytics strategy for Cigna Healthcare within the Medicare Stars program with a focus on Part D measures.  This position is located within the Medicare Stars Analytics team, who’s function is to provide operational and analytical support to internal and external partners to improve Cigna’s Medicare Star Ratings.  The Business Analytics Senior Advisor will lead development of data analyses utilizing pharmacy claims, clinical outcomes, and Stars quality measures to make recommendations based on relevant findings. The Business Analytics Senior Advisor will interface across multiple business areas, including, but not limited to pharmacy, clinical, customer experience, product development and operations as needed.

The person chosen for this role will be leading the development of technical and analytical enhancements to further improve Cigna’s Medicare Part D Star ratings. This role will be responsible for designing and developing advanced Stars reporting and dashboards related to the Medicare Stars program focused on Part D clinical, administrative, and customer experience measures.  These reports will be utilized by business partners and Stars leadership in making critical business decisions related to enhancements to existing programs, development of new pilots and initiatives, and other opportunities to maximize Part D Stars affordability and enterprise value. The ideal candidate will have a strong strategic mindset for driving Part D quality and a passion for healthcare analytics.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of reports and dashboards using self-service technologies like SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), PowerBI, Tabeau, or other similar platforms to classify, quantify, and/or forecast Stars metrics to enable business partners to make sound business decisions related to Part D intervention strategies

• Extract and manipulate large healthcare data using data analytics tools such as Databricks, SAS, SQL, R, Python, Teradata, etc.

• Identify, analyze and interpret Part D Stars trends or patterns in data sets through descriptive and advanced statistics

• Develop actionable insights and present results to non-technical business partners and stakeholders to drive the decision-making process

• Develop methods for improving internal techniques and processes with expertise in creating highly effective, visual graphics that tell complex stories in formats that can be easily conveyed to leadership and executive clients 

• Work collaboratively and partner with departments across the organization to ensure deliverables are accomplished

• Act as a mentor and escalation point for other team analysts on problem solving and providing feedback and guidance on best practices

Qualifications

• At least eight years of professional experience in healthcare analytics or a related discipline

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to analytics, data science, statistics, or another related field (or 10+ years relevant work experience)

• Expert knowledge of the CMS Part D Star Rating System, including Pharmacy, Administrative, and CAHPS Measures

• Extensive knowledge of and experience working with pharmacy claims data, customer eligibility data, and customer experience/self-report data.

• Deep understanding of advanced analytics tools and languages to analyze large data sets, including:

• SQL query development and programming, Tableau and Python – Required

• Teradata and Databricks – Preferred

• Ability to understand business operations requirements and translate them into technical applications

• Excellent oral and written communications skills with a proven ability to communicate complex concepts to stakeholders at all levels of the organization

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills and proven ability to perform in a matrix environment

• Strong leadership and project management skill

• Ability to work autonomously and deal with ambiguity

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 109,100 - 181,800 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
