Position Summary
This position is responsible for maintaining high levels of production, quality, and yield while ensuring the safest possible work environment. The role requires a strong understanding and control of the production process, accurate recordkeeping, and effective line maintenance and staffing.
Key responsibilities include reviewing daily production orders to ensure customer requirements are met; ensuring all positions are properly staffed prior to production start‑up; and overseeing Team Member morning exercises and job rotations to support ergonomics and injury prevention. This role also ensures that all machinery is operating at optimal performance levels and that all workstations have passed USDA inspection.
Additional responsibilities include promoting workplace safety on a daily basis and through monthly safety meetings; ensuring accurate shipments, proper product coding, and correct inventory rotation; and maintaining compliance with quality and safety standards. The position is also responsible for communicating company benefits and compensation policies to Team Members, providing guidance and encouragement to build a strong and engaged team, and performing essential human relations functions such as training, retention, and counseling related to personal and professional matters.
This role collaborates with other supervisors to resolve operational issues, oversees various processing operations, maintains records of reworked or returned products, and continuously educates Team Members on the importance of quality. Other duties may be assigned as business needs require.
Requirements
Education:
- High school diploma required
- Education beyond high school, including specialized training, vocational schooling, or college coursework, is preferred
Computer Skills:
- Basic computer skills are helpful
Communication Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supervising a team of personnel performing similar or related tasks
Travel:
- Occasional travel required (1–5 trips per year)
Work Schedule:
- Monday–Thursday: 4:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Friday: 4:00 a.m. – 2:45 p.m.
