We are a rapidly growing network of automotive repair shops throughout the Midwest driven to treat every teammate like family and every customer like a neighbor. Our regional accounting office located in Rockford, IL is seeking an essential member of the team to support financial and shop operations in a fast-paced environment. The regional accounting team consists of 3 teammates supporting nearly 30 shops located in the Midwest. 

Position Overview:

The Accounting Clerk will work closely with the Regional Accounting Manager and be responsible for processing and managing accounts payable transactions, other administrative financial tasks, and supporting shop teammates with their accounting needs. 

Essential Functions:

• Act as primary point of contact for shop managers regarding accounts payable questions, vendor payments and credits, and invoice submissions
• Process vendor invoices and reconcile vendor statements
• Ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors
• Communicate with vendors to address payment inquiries and resolve issues
• Reconcile daily cash drawer reports and investigate discrepancies
• Assist with training shop managers on financial procedures and company policies
• Assist in account reconciliations and month-end closing activities
• Other accounting tasks and special projects as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

Education: High school diploma/GED.

Experience: 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience. Experience in the automotive industry and/or multi-location business a plus. 

Technical skills: Thorough understanding of bookkeeping practices and procedures. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Soft skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, excellent communication skills, and a customer service mentality.

Other: Ability to work independently and collaboratively with remote teammates.

Valid driver’s license.
