New Product Design Engineer

If you are a highly motivated New Product Design Engineer, we have a great opportunity for you in our Stafford, TX facility. As a New Product Development Engineer, you will collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and Product Management teams to assess new product concepts and develop technical specifications. You will design innovative solutions that meet customer needs and deliver distinctive advantages
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Work closely with Sales/Marketing/Product Management in evaluating new product ideas and developing technical specifications. Assists in preparation of project proposals for management.
- Manage assigned new product development projects, overseeing them from initial design to product launch. Collaborate with the team to ensure projects are completed on time and meet all specifications.
- Develop innovative designs that exceed customer expectations and deliver unique benefits. Create new components and products based on solid engineering principles, customer specifications, and industry standards.
- Build and maintain the Engineering database to support the above activities. Prepare drawings, procedures, and bills of materials for new products.
- Work with supplier management and quality assurance teams to identify and qualify new vendors for unique and innovative processes. Assists suppliers in understanding product requirements.
- Build prototypes and conducts product performance tests for evaluation and compliance to specifications and standards.
- Collaborate with the manufacturing engineer to optimize manufacturing methods and productivity, ensuring cost targets are met without compromising product design or performance. Ensure that production, assembly, and testing equipment and procedures meet design performance requirements.
For This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s in Engineering is required.
- 2-3 years’ experience working in an engineering/manufacturing environment required.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions, solve problems, and deliver results.
- Master’s degree in mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering is preferred
- Preferred proficiency in 3D modeling using AutoDesk Inventor, SolidWorks, Pro/Engineer, or equivalent software.
- Preferred knowledge of nonlinear Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using ANSYS, Cosmos, or equivalent software
- Experience with pressure relief valves is a plus.
