About the role
Overview
This position is on the staff of a government management consulting organization headquartered in McLean, Virginia. Apply critical thinking and problem-solving techniques and clearly and logically articulate conclusions and recommendations, both verbally and in writing. Manage multiple projects, interfacing with client contacts as needed. Potential work involves risk and impact analysis and report writing.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Contractor Project Manager to support facility requirements.
- Assist the government in developing SOWs, cost estimates, facility technical proposals, move-add-change requirements, AutoCAD drawings, Gantt charts, and project schedules for various facility projects.
- Assist the government in utilizing software tools such as Microsoft Project or MAXIMO.
- With government approval, facilitate internal and external working groups.
- Interface with facility occupants on project requirements.
- Assist in the development of budgets and the coordination of procurement activities pertaining to architecture and engineering, facilities management, and facilities operations and maintenance.
- Assist the government in monitoring compliance with environmental and energy efficiency legislation and mandates.
- Assist the government in providing quality workspaces
- Manage project design and/or construction efforts, to include schedule, funding, and day-to-day project oversight.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Architecture or Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or General) ( A high school, vocational school, or trade school diploma and five years of work experience in a similar field may be substituted for degree requirement.
- 10 or more years of federal facility management experience to include all phases of the facility lifecycle process – planning, programming, design, construction, and operations
- Knowledge of Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM) systems
- Demonstrated experience using at least one of the following tools: BUILDER, Archibus, MAXIMO, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Project
- Demonstrated experience handling multiple, demanding, and complex tasks in a timely manner with accurate results
- Active TS/SCI with polygraph required
Desired:
- Master’s degree in architecture, architectural engineering, or a related technical degree from an accredited school
- Professional Engineering License (PE), Registered Architect (RA), Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Project Management Professional (PMP) or American Institute of Architects (AIA) certificationInternational Facility Management Association (IFMA) Certification
