Oversees all physician office operations within a given market

Department Summary:

The Cumberland Pediatric Foundation is a public, non-profit company organized exclusively for scientific, charitable and educational purposes to improve health care services for children. Our mission is to promote the health care of children by improving the quality, increasing the efficiency, and lowering the cost of the delivery of pediatric health care services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure that quality patient care is provided in accordance with established standards, which are based on current medical practice best practice performance data
• Oversees practice/ office/ sites. Approves established performance goals and allocation of resources, assist in recruitment, selection, and training of staff
• Primary responsibility will be to provide direction and administration of general operations for physician practices, productive management, and new service line development
• Monitors operational and financial performance of the practices and implements effective changes that ensure practices are operated in a manner consistent with "best practices."
• Understands the physician income statements thoroughly. Address questions regarding physician charges and expenses.
• Directs clinics to achieve budgeted results and other financial criteria and to preserve capital funds invested in the organization.
• Leads practice managers to continuously identify opportunities for incremental volume and revenue growth.
• Act as a liaison for the financial analyst
• Continuously works with the clinic managers to develop, monitor, and adhere to annual operating, capital, and marketing budgets.
• Leads practice managers to continuously identify opportunities for expense management.
• Provide leadership that ensures effective collaborative working relationships between administration, management, physicians, staff, and other offices and entities
• Administers the physician compensation program for the practice, including development and ongoing monitoring and adjusting of compensation models as appropriate.
• Patient/Customer Relations - acknowledges customers promptly; express respect, understanding, and promotes customer self-esteem; addresses concerns firsthand or seeks help in resolving issues; follows up to ensure issues are resolved.
• Enhances professional development and maintains professional affiliations to maintain current knowledge of health care trends and developments.
• Continuously participates with the management team, medical staff, and other clinical leaders in decision making structures and processes of the clinics
• Monitor and manage physician productivity based on financial results. Educate and review results with the physician or on a periodic bases. Recommend and implement corrective action based on results.
• Approves and facilitates practice policies and procedures, objectives, and performance improvement programs
• Ensures that all practice operations comply with policies and procedures, local/state/federal laws, rules, and regulations
• Ensures that all practice sites implement the annual Compliance Work Plan and that ongoing monitoring yields desired results
• Facilitates new practice start up, assists with physician recruitment, physician orientation.
• Ensures effective coordination of all activities related to the establishment and closure of clinical sites in addition to the start and end of physician employment relationships.
• Leads physician recruitment process
• Monitors the full revenue cycle and ensures practices perform within organizational benchmarks
• Supervise clinical and non-clinical staff through delegation of responsibilities. Ensure that employee concerns and problems are addressed and resolved according to established HR policy and procedure
• Performs other duties
