POSITION SUMMARY:

This part-time position is in the Professional Compliance Section and provides vital support to the section, including, but not limited to, working with archived records, processing incoming mail, opening new disciplinary cases, preparing case files for hearings, and scanning documents to eliminate paper files. 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Sorting through the incoming mail each day and distributing the mail to the appropriate recipient;
  • Making ATMS entries and assigning the cases that have arrived via mail to the appropriate case specialist;
  • Archiving case files quarterly;
  • Retrieving case files from the State of Florida Archives when asked or when otherwise necessary;
  • Assisting with the scanning and uploading of hearing packets and Final Orders;
  • Handling special projects or assignments as needed by the supervisor;
  • Reading and acknowledging FDLE Policies & Procedures within 30 workdays of employment or 30 workdays of issuance of revised Policies;
  • Managing the care, custody and control of all property assigned and understanding that if property is lost or damaged through the member’s negligence or misuse, the member may be subject to disciplinary action or be required to reimburse FDLE for the loss or damage; and
  • Understanding that as a member of a law enforcement agency, during any critical incident or disaster, both natural and man-made, your position may be designated as an essential service position for a given period, and you may be required to work after normal business hours, during office closures, or during weekends and/or holidays when needed.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication;
  • Knowledge of office procedures and practices;
  • Ability to understand and apply agency and State rules, regulations, policies and procedures;
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments;
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; and
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

BASE SALARY:

  • $17.33/hour
