Senior Software Engineer – REDAPL (Lisbon)

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help advance REDAPL, our Referential Data Platform that tracks and contextualizes our customers’ infrastructure resources and their relationships.</p> <p><strong>About REDAPL</strong><strong><br/></strong>REDAPL powers multiple customer-facing products such as Cloud Security Posture Management, Cloud Cost Management, Resource Catalog, and more. It handles large-scale data ingestion and querying, providing vital insights into infrastructure performance, cost, and security. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our employees can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.</span></em></p> <p> </p> <p><strong>What You’ll Do:</strong></p> <p>Contribute to the design, implementation, and operation of reliable and scalable distributed systems within REDAPL.<br/><br/></p> <ul> <li>Build and evolve ingestion, processing, and query systems that handle high volumes of structured infrastructure data.</li> <li>Collaborate with engineers across teams to support integration of new products and internal consumers of the platform.</li> <li>Identify and help address bottlenecks in performance, reliability, and usability of the platform.</li> <li>Participate in architectural discussions, technical planning, and code reviews within your team.</li> <li>Provide mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to building a high-performing, inclusive team culture.</li> <li>Participate in our on-call rotation, ensuring the resilience and availability of platform components.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Who You Are:</strong></p> <ul> <li>You have experience building and operating backend systems at scale, particularly in distributed systems or data infrastructure.<br/>You are comfortable working with backend languages (such as Go, Java, or Python) and have solid systems programming fundamentals.</li> <li>You have strong experience optimizing system performance, resilience, and cost-efficiency.</li> <li>You’ve contributed to the success of complex technical projects and are eager to take ownership in a collaborative environment.</li> <li>You enjoy mentoring teammates, learning continuously, and improving team practices and code quality.</li> <li>You are comfortable navigating trade-offs in performance, simplicity, and technical debt, and can articulate your decisions.</li> <li><span>You’re excited about leveraging AI tools to enhance how you code, solve problems, and build – or eager to learn how.</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><em><span>Datadog values people from all walks of life.
