This position is for Weekend Shift i.e. Alternate Work Week (AWW): Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:30AM - 6:30 PM.

What You Will Do:

Pratt and Whitney is seeking a highly talented and motivated individual who enjoys operating in a dynamic, fast paced environment and can meet the proactive and reactive challenges of supporting the operations.

Quality Engineers are integral to the continued success of the mod center as the leaders of problem resolution teams related to part manufacture in the value stream, the drivers of process improvement and educators of technical requirements. They also act as liaisons between the mod center, program office and internal customer when discussing quality concerns.

In this position, your primary role will be to support the shop floor. A QE is responsible for reviewing procedures, specifications, work instructions and equipment to ensure compliance to Quality Management Systems.

  • Reduce customer escapes by identifying non-conformance drivers and implementing mistake proof solutions.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering to improve part quality signature.
  • Drive scrap, rework, and repair dollars to the lowest achievable levels by participation in process monitoring and improvement projects.
  • Comply with FAA, and DCMA standards, applicable laws, and company policies.
  • Provide strategic leadership in the development and implementation of project quality plans to obtain annual reduction goals in Scrap, Rework and Repair (SRR) and escapes to flight operations and DCMA discrepancies.
  • Improve manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and test processes to reduce and prevent defects and prevent quality escapes to our customers.
  • Provide quality engineering support (interpretation, process approvals, etc.)
  • Participate in technical investigations.
  • Assist with immediate risk containment measures and systemic mistake proof solutions to improve quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  • Develop and deliver technical training to the inspection and operations teams.
  • Support the development of productivity initiatives to improve product acceptance methodology. Integrate goals that will align with process quality engineering activities.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' related experience.
  • Candidates with 9 or more years of experience in Quality Engineering, who do not possess a degree, will also be considered
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
