Job Overview

The P&G Digital Accelerator@UC is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology to help drive Product and Process innovation through the optimization of High-Throughput RNASeq capabilities. The successful candidate will help design and execute next-generation RNASeq experiments with the goal of significantly reducing the cost and increasing the throughput of our ongoing gene expression profiling efforts.

Essential Functions

Under the supervision of University of Cincinnati faculty or staff, will:

 

  • Collaborate with scientists at the University of Cincinnati as well as Procter & Gamble to develop next-generation molecular capabilities including designing and executing next-generation RNASeq experiments with the goal of significantly reducing costs and increasing throughput.
  • Conduct experiments using standard molecular techniques, including RNA isolation, quality control, and RNASeq, preferably in an Illumina NextSeq or NovaSeq platform environment.
  • Experimental design and troubleshooting, laboratory execution, data analysis, and, optionally, statistical quality control including standard RNASeq pipeline and statistical analyses.

Minimum Requirements

Prior to effective date of appointment, all of the following are required: 

 

  • PhD Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or closely related field; AND
  • An academic research background which must have included the following: translational science techniques, including RNA isolation, analytical quality control, and RNASeq; wet-lab experience designing and troubleshooting RNASeq experiments; and working in an Electronic Laboratory Notebooks (ELNs) and SOP environment
