The Disability Cultural Center (DCC) celebrates disability as an intersectional identity through the transformative power of the arts, sciences, and community. The Administrative Assistant is an organized, efficient professional who coordinates the successful planning and execution of multiple projects and events on multiple timelines while maintaining intraoffice administrative responsibilities including scheduling, expense reports, order purchases, and taking meeting minutes, among others. S/he is highly motivated, results-oriented, and pro-active in providing administrative support for the Executive Support Team for the Disability Cultural Center. This individual will support the work of the Disability Cultural Center and related work promoting a culture of access across campus, including the administrative responsibilities listed above in addition to tracking and supporting projects for the Director of the Disability Cultural Center, and as appropriate and over time. Reporting to the Director of the Disability Cultural Center, and supporting other projects requiring administrative support, additional duties include, but are mot limited to:

  • Draft and design DCC communications, including but not limited: to emails, newsletters, graphics, and social media using accessibility best practices.

  • Check and maintain accessibility on DCC website and communications materials, creating and completing expense reports for DCC programs and projects.

  • Handle travel arrangements for DCC guests, gathering and organizing metrics for measuring our programs successes.

  • Assist with operational and logistical support for programming, finding and booking appropriate spaces for events.

  • Carry out the preparation and coordination of events in support of the DCC, including space reservations, catering and vendor orders, AV arrangements, guest registration and RSVP lists, panelist and featured guest accommodations, invitations, and thank you messages.

  • Use independent discretion and judgment to ensure the thorough planning and execution of events from start to finish.

  • Implement accessibility best practices for all programs.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Previous Administrative experience preferred

  • Superior organizational skills, discretion, and a capacity to anticipate needs and to pre-emptively respond to them

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues across the university

  • They will be asked to implement projects and administrative duties in a team-oriented environment with the goal of ensuring the success of the Disability Cultural Center and the overall University’s initiatives

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$19.20 - $28.70

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
