Description:

Education

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in medical technology (Clinical Laboratory Science) including completion of a clinical internship.

Credentials/Licensure

• Required: Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or National Credentialing Agency (NCA) – OR – be board eligible with certification completed within one year of hire.

Related Experience

• Required: None

• Preferred: One (1) year of hospital laboratory experience

Skills & Abilities

• Preferred:

  • Strong computer skills

  • Excellent customer service abilities

  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Computer Competency

• Familiarity with standard Windows-based desktop systems, including:

  • Email and intranet tools

  • E-learning platforms

  • Navigation of lab-specific or EMR software as needed to perform essential job functions

Physical & Mental Requirements

• Frequent walking, standing (80% of the workday), and bending

• Must be able to lift containers/boxes weighing 40+ lbs

• Role requires attention to detail and focus for all lab testing

• Must adapt to frequent interruptions and changing priorities

• 20–50% of the workday involves computer data entry

• Must be able to pass a color vision test
