DEPARTMENT: Wellness and Recovery Services

REPORTS TO: CWCRT Program Manager

POSITION STATUS: Non-Exempt-Full-time-40 hours per week

SALARY: $60 per hour

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

StarVista’s Community Wellness and Crisis Response Team (CWCRT) Pilot Program, in partnership with San Mateo County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services and county police departments; is designed to improve law enforcement response to community members experiencing mental health crisis


POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

To provide operational and administrative support to the CWCRT Program and oversee day-to-day activities of clinicians assigned to the following cities Police Departments: East Palo Alto, Menlo Park and San Bruno.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Monitor and ensure all clinicians have valid and active clinical licenses, necessary to engage in the practice of therapy in the State of California. 
  • Participate in all collaborative meetings with County, Community and Steering Committee stakeholders, as required. 
  • Monitor compliance of clinicians providing follow-up interactions with community members. 
  • Coordinate with Program Manager, designated Police Departments and BHRS to ensure communication, data, evaluation, and Quality Assurance needs are met. 
  • Support hire, onboarding, and training of new hires for selected Police Departments. • Ensure program guidelines are adhered to, as outlined in the program contract. 
  • Facilitate and oversee ongoing training and development needs. 
  • Ensure unlicensed clinicians on the CWCRT team are connected and receive required supervision towards Licensure. 
  • Supporting designated Clinicians in coordination of time off and provide direct coverage as necessary. 
  • Collaborate with Program Manager regarding any grievances and program-related concerns. 
  • Oversee services to ensure they are delivered in an appropriate manner and records are maintained in accordance with appropriate standards. 
  • Coordinate mandatory training for CWCRT clinicians. 
  • Perform other duties, as assigned by Program Manager or Department Director.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Teams, and Zoom. 
  • Knowledge of procedures and issues specific to mobile crisis intervention. 
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with community agencies. 
  • Experience working in multicultural communities. 
  • Establish relationships with psychiatric hospitals, and community resources. 
  • Ability to collaborate cooperatively with clinicians, police, and community activists.
  • Enjoys working with law enforcement and the community. 
  • Level of comfortability making presentations to outside organizations, agencies, and the community. 
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines. 
  • Demonstrated ability managing competing tasks in demanding environments. 
  • Flexibility in meeting changing priorities as the work requires. 
  • Able to function as part of a clinical team and possess strong people skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in social work, Psychology or related counseling field. 
  • Currently licensed as either an LCSW, LMFT, LPCC or Licensed Clinical Psychologist. If not licensed, must be registered as an Associate with California Board of Behavioral Sciences and eligible for licensure.
