The Sr. Sales Manager Northern Europe is responsible for continuing to grow the Wholesale business in the Benelux and Nordics region. This leadership role will be based in Amsterdam and will be reporting to the Commercial Director EMEA. This individual will be responsible for growing our current account base and selectively adding new brand fit accounts to the portfolio. This role will actively lead, coach, drive and inspire the regional sales team and retail partners to achieve monthly, quarterly and yearly sales targets. The Sr. Sales Manager Northern Europe will work cross functionally with our internal teams across EMEA and the global HQ in the US. A high sense of urgency, being results-oriented, and the ability to build strong relationships across different cultures are critical for success in this role. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the regional Wholesale business to meet regional sales targets and objectives
  • Develop and manage short term and long-term sales strategies for all wholesale account channels across the region
  • Work with Senior Leadership, Finance, Marketing and Product teams within EMEA to establish yearly business plans for the region 
  • Build and maintain relationships with Key Accounts across the region, serving as a primary point of contact for leadership 
  • Engage with local partners to refine sales strategies, utilizing the strengths and data to identify and improve sales performance
  • Attend tradeshows and key events to drive brand awareness and revenue 
  • Lead monthly sales forecasting meetings with territory sales teams and generate reports as required to understand the health of the business 
  • Ensure trade terms, discounts, and co-op budgets are managed to annual operating plan 
  • Maintain annual planning calendar for all sales & product timelines 
  • Provide voice of customer insights to marketing and product development to ensure their activities are aligned and support the outside sales goals and objectives 
  • Develop internal and external cross functional, multi-level relationships
  • Collaborate with demand planning team on monthly account level forecasts.
  • Collaborate across all departments to build and drive brand awareness and provide real time competitor analysis and feedback to the leadership team
  • Analyse sales data to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement

Qualifications and Attributes: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 8 years of experience within consumer goods product sales (Outdoor or Sporting Goods preferred)
  • At least 4 years leading sales teams to meet aggressive goals 
  • Strong sales leader with high level emotional intelligence
  • Experience with account development through sales agents and/or distributors
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding regional sales targets 
  • Strategic thinker who can architect an overall sales plan and create an effective sales process 
  • Ability to develop and execute regional strategic growth plans and build business with strategies aimed at long term growth 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills – ability to communicate to a variety of potential audiences clearly and concisely
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills 
  • Expertise in PowerPoint and Excel 
  • History of collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop and implement programs and processes 
  • Strong planning and negation skills 
  • 50% travel within region and occasionally to the US
