Position Summary: Position requires a highly motivated and detailed individual who is self-directed and able to manage multiple projects and can professionally engage with Project Managers, Product Homes, and customers. Candidate must be able to organize and maintain accurate and complete electrical document packages for Capital projects in compliance with company approved documentation procedures and comply with customer specifications. This is a senior position requiring the ability to design control systems using Andritz standards keeping costs within budget.
Principle Duties:
- Responsible for interpreting customer specifications and drawing requirements, along with industrial standards such as NFPA, CSA, UL508 and NEMA and translating these requirements into component bills of material and electrical drawings for the design and fabrication of process controls equipment and systems used in the separation of all types of materials including Pharmaceutical, Chemical, and Water Treatment. Control system design includes MCC’s, PLC and RIO control panels, as well as specifying and sizing field instrumentation for machine regulation, monitoring and safety.
- Generates electrical approval and certified drawing packages while ensuring accuracy and completeness for customer submission and fabrication in accordance with contract definition.
- Executes a proper balance between electrical design and cost effectiveness to maintain quality and established budgets.
- Assures all electrical equipment meets or exceeds customer satisfaction.
- Understands process controls terminology and instrumentation.
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD Electrical, minimum 3+ years.
- Provides technical expertise to field technicians as required.
- Provide complete control solutions for processes, including PLC programming, HMI graphical screens for operator interfaces, per machine type.
- Proficient in the use of Studio-5000 and Factory Talk View, both Rockwell products.
- The physical demands of this position require the ability to sit. Requires the ability to view computer screens to design in AutoCad, read specifications and type reports. Requires the occasional ability to make visual inspections with precise hand and finger movements.
Preferred:
- Experience and knowledge in the use of one or more of the following is a PLUS:
- Siemens TIA Portal
- Schneider EcoStruxure, Vijeo, and SoMove.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proven experience in electrical engineering, with a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCad.
- Familiarity with electrical design software and tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
