About the role
The Utility Operator is responsible for the safe, environmentally sound, and efficient daily operation of the facility and heavy equipment.
Position Responsibilities:
- Safe operations of heavy equipment (forklift).
- Performs daily routine inspections of assigned equipment and fills out necessary log sheets according to procedures.
- Performs troubleshooting on equipment and reports all malfunctioning equipment through the issuance of work orders.
- Performs checks as required by the weekly activities book, the monthly critical items check list, etc.
- Maintains proper fuel, lubricant, and oil levels for operation of assigned equipment.
- Performs lockout and tagout of equipment in support of maintenance activities.
- Maintains cleanliness of equipment and an orderly work area.
- Performs additional tasks as directed by the Shift Supervisor, or his or her designee.
Position Requirements & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Reworld offers GED Works – a fully funded program for employees to achieve their GED.
- Previous experience in the operation and maintenance of heavy equipment (front loaders, excavators, dozer, skid steer, bobcat, etc.)
- Must be able to pass respiratory fit tested on a daily basis.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
Physical Demands of the Role:
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb.
- Ability to lift/carry 50lbs.
- Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces.
- Qualify to wear a full-face respirator.
- Consistently work in various weather conditions
Shift:
- Rotating 8-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
