General Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the Supervisor of Special Education, the IEP Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the development and management of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). This role includes coordinating efforts within the school and across departments/divisions, ensuring adherence to established operational policies and procedures, facilitating effective communication with relevant stakeholders, responding to information requests, maintaining accurate records, and generating required reports. 

In addition, the IEP Coordinator provides critical support to new teachers and designated staff by offering training and development aligned with special education best practices. This includes mentoring, delivering direct instruction, and providing professional development opportunities aimed at enhancing student learning. The goal is to promote students’ social, emotional, and academic growth within the framework of a special education environment.

Education/Training:

  • A bachelor’s degree in special education or related field is required, master’s degree preferred
  • Teacher leader or special education liaison experience required

Experience:

  • A minimum of five (5) years' related experience normally required.
