JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Network Engineer and Developer supporting network build out and deployments to the operational environment as necessary. The candidate will work within an agile scrum team and plan work based on customer requirements and program contractual agreements.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Wide application of principles, theories, and concepts in their field and provides solutions to a wide range of difficult problems with imaginative and thorough solutions
  • Works under general direction, and results are reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives
  • Frequent internal and external customer contacts and represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.
  • Must have previous experience with presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools.
  • Must have experience working collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated network engineers as well as independently on large field projects.
  • Candidates with prior C2BMC network experience are highly desired.
  • Also desired are candidates with knowledge, skill sets or experience using protocol analyzers/sniffers (such as Wireshark).
  • Industry vendor certifications from Juniper (JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIE) a must and from Cisco (CCNA, CCNP) a plus.
  • Also desired previous experience in authentication & encryption methods/capabilities (TACACS+, Active Directory, GEM-X), Virtualization technologies such a VMWare vCenter and vSphere.

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Must be a proven network engineer with hands-on mid-level experience and knowledge of network design, development and testing methodologies.
  • Be very familiar with the following:
    • The TCP/IP Model, the OSI Model, Multicast, Firewalls, Routing Protocols, experience with capturing and deciphering packets (50% of testing efforts involve packet capture and analysis), Network Address Translation (NAT), Network Timing, ability to read technical network diagrams.
    • Specific experience with Juniper and/or Cisco networking equipment required
    • A self-motivated individual and possess strong verbal/written communications skills
    • A solid understanding of the OSI Model, TCP/IP, routing protocols BGP and OSPF.
    • Proven network traffic analysis, diagnostic and troubleshooting experience.
    • Experience in UDP multicast, VLANs, GRE Tunnels, and TCP/IP network designs
    • Understanding of standard DOD security practices such as, STIG compliance and system accreditation
