Job Title: Production Supervisor
Department: Production
Reports To: Sr. Manager, Operations

SUMMARY
Supervise for all aspects of operation for the production department. This includes the management of materials and resources to meet our Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost targets. It also includes the testing, repair and maintain quality and delivery standards procedures for products while communicating with scheduling, assembly, packing and shipping areas to ensure proper workflow in the zones to meet quality and delivery requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Ensure assemblers and test technicians meeting quality and delivery standards.
- Be able to use manuals, drawings, test procedures and other resources for assembly.
- Identify incorrect drawings, shop order, BOMs and product flaws and complete necessary paperwork to have them corrected.
- Identify easier and more cost-effective ways to build and test current product without sacrificing quality.
- Provides daily reports to the manager regarding operational issues or concerns that occurred during the shift; keeps manager informed of overall shift work outputs.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; tracking absenteeism and maintaining time keeping; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving grievances.
- Works with Engineering and Maintenance to solve process and/or equipment issues.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Provide assistance to primary operator.
- Answer and on calls for assistance
- Determine when to call maintenance and who should respond.
- Perform or assist with changeovers.
- Manage defective material-make sure it is red tagged and rejected.
- Follow and procure material and tools when needed.
- Keep records associated with overtime work.
- Assist area supervisor to ensure proper rotation concepts.
- Perform process monitoring (for each process and each operator)
- Perform quality audits.
- Provide input to root cause analysis.
- Assist Manager to ensure proper scheduling of production.
- Assist Manager to ensure timely and accurate completion of vacation schedules.
- Assist Manager in maintaining department supplies and indirect materials.
- Fill out annual performance reviews for employees in their team two weeks before the anniversary date.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE – High School diploma or GED with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in manufacturing leadership.
