Business Development / Capture Lead

The Auria Growth Organization is seeking a full-time, experienced, and motivated BD and Capture individual to lead cross-functional teams through full life-cycle BD capture processes. This position is based out of Colorado Springs, CO with hybrid and remote work options available. Position may include up to 25% travel annually and reports directly to the CGO.
As a BD/Capture lead, you will apply your proven business development, capture, and proposal skills to lead cross-functional staff and program teams through full life-cycle capture processes that directly support corporate growth within Department of Defense (DoD) Space, Missile Defense, and Cybersecurity sectors. Candidates for this position must be able to effectively lead, manage projects, communicate, and assess risk within a fast-paced, collaborative, and innovative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business unit, program, and corporate staff functional experts to develop and execute BD and capture strategies, resource proposal activities, and assign roles and responsibilities.
- Establish strong relationships internally with corporate and business unit leadership and externally with government, the defense industrial base, and commercial suppliers.
- Lead cross-functional teams through full-life cycle capture processes, including long-term market analysis and positioning, opportunity identification and assessment, capture planning and execution, proposal planning and development, and post submit customer response and transition activities.
- Develop multi-tiered customer contact plans to develop strong, sustainable relationships and influence potential customers on Auria’s capabilities, core competencies and preferred solutions.
- Work collaboratively with customers to understand needs, critical gaps, and technical requirements to inform development of value propositions, win strategies and plans.
- Maintain strong relationships and regular interface with defense industry peers to evaluate and develop superior organizational teaming.
- Develop and present pursuit recommendations and capture plans to executive leadership to facilitate timely and informed decision making.
- Lead development and presentation of milestone reviews, including PTW strategies, competitive analysis (black hat), technical and management baselines, color teams, and cost reviews.
- Lead and manage execution of capture activities to ensure cost, schedule, and technical performance goals are clearly articulated and demonstrated throughout proposal development.
- Demonstrate ability to support authoring of executive summaries, creating storyboards, and ensuring win themes and strengths are demonstrated throughout all proposal volumes.
- In conjunction with proposal team, support development of effective proposal execution plans
- Support analysis of Draft/Final RFPs and related documents to assist development of schedules, matrices, and other artifacts to ensure compliance with deadlines, deliverables, and requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Currently possesses or can obtain a US Secret Security Clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of acquisition, engineering and/or related business experience.
- 5+ years of business development and/or capture experience supporting US Government and/or commercial programs within the Space and Missile Defense sectors.
- Knowledge of military space, air force, and missile defense systems and capabilities.
- Demonstrated experience capturing full and open prime, Other Transaction Authority (OTA) and multi-award ID/IQ opportunities.
- Experience reading and analyzing RFPs, crafting proposal outlines, compliance matrices and schedules, and managing teams and work products.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong customer and industry relationships/networks.
- Must possess and demonstrate good leadership skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; attention to detail and accuracy are a must.
- Thorough knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- Demonstrated experience working independently and with cross-functional teams.
- Understanding of pricing and estimating strategies as well as proposal cost structures/elements.
- Familiar with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), TINA statute, OTA and/or other Government procurement regulations.
