Finance Manager (Hybrid / Amsterdam)

The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily finance operations, ensuring strong internal financial controls, timely month-end closings, and proper handling of VAT and tax matters. This hands-on role includes managing both operational and administrative tasks and reports to the CFO.

You will be the ‘go to’ person for all financial and accounting matters and as such will be an invaluable contributor to the ongoing growth and success of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the financial administration and operations of the Group, leading a team of 2 employees
• Overall responsible for month-end closing and consolidation, ensuring timely reporting on a monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual basis
• Manage statutory accounts and external audit processes
• Maintain robust internal controls and ensure utmost financial integrity and compliance within the organization
• Oversee tax accounting for the Group (supported by external specialists) and ensure adherence to Australian, Dutch and International tax regulations; ensure compliance with Transfer Pricing policies
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting; prepare flux analyses and provide detailed explanations for variances
• Manage cashflow and treasury activities, oversee intercompany transactions

• Continuously improve and automate Finance processes
• Expect the unexpected. One-off and project-based requests will happen in this role, so flexibility, responsiveness, prioritization, self-management and communication skills will be essential

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant work experience
• Bachelors or Masters degree in the areas of Accounting, Controlling or Finance; post-graduate accounting qualification (RA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) is a plus
• Excellent accounting software user and Excel skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong internal drive with motivation to make a difference and add value to the organization
• Hands-on mentality, self-starter and autonomous, being able to work under limited guidance
• Fluent in English
