About the role

Description

Heartview Foundation is dedicated to providing compassionate care and support to individuals on their journey to recovery. As part of our team, you’ll play a vital role in creating a positive environment for residents by preparing nutritious and balanced meals that meet a variety of dietary needs. 


Schedule:

24 hours per week, with the requirement to work every other weekend.


We are seeking a reliable Cook to join our kitchen team. This role is responsible for preparing meals in large quantities, maintaining a safe and clean kitchen, and ensuring that all dietary requirements are met for our residents. 


Responsibilities

  • Prepare meals by following established recipes, measuring and prepping ingredients, and using commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure all ingredients and finished products are fresh and meet food safety standards.
  • Maintain inventory at cooking stations and communicate shortages to the Kitchen Manager.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment regularly
  • Operate ovens, broilers, grills, fryers, and other commercial equipment safely.

Schedule:
24 hours per week, with the requirement to work every other weekend.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • At least one year of experience as a cook or in food preparation for large groups.
  • Serve Safe certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of commercial kitchen standards, food safety, and sanitation procedures.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate respectfully with residents and staff.
  • If in recovery, applicants must demonstrate sustained abstinence and stability.
