Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This position will be responsible for performing all clerical and information technology functions for a physician in a clinic setting.
- This includes primary responsibility of the operation of electronic health records and electronic dictation system.
- Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits, procedures and treatments being performed by healthcare professionals as well as assist with providing basic patient education.
- Must also be able to anticipate physician needs to facilitate the flow of clinic.
- Medical scribes must be discreet, tactful and modest in performance of duties so as not to distract medical staff from patient care.
- Good judgement, organizational ability, initiative, attention to detail and the ability to be self-motivated are especially important.
- Ability to learn and use all functions of the electronic medical record software.
- Must comply with HIPAA confidentiality.
- Other duties include assisting with patient rooming process, communicating and waits and delays to patients and clinical team; liaison between front and back office for patient communication needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with different software systems and touch-screen electronics.
- Medical terminology preferred.
- Proficient in typing and use of Microsoft office software.
