Job Summary
Join our dynamic FedRAMP Security Operations team as an Associate Security Engineer and contribute to safeguarding critical cloud infrastructure for U.S. government clients. Key Responsibilities
Conduct vulnerability assessments using tools such as Nessus/Tenable.io, Burp Suite, and STIG compliance scans to identify and mitigate risks in cloud infrastructure.
Support FedRAMP compliance by assisting in documentation, evidence collection, and audit preparation, leveraging security automation platforms.
Participate in 24/7 incident response operations, including on-call rotations, using CrowdStrike and SIEM tools to investigate alerts and document incidents.
Perform proactive threat hunting and develop detection rules utilizing AI-powered analysis to preempt security threats.
Collaborate with DevOps teams to embed security controls in CI/CD pipelines and ensure secure change management practices.
Maintain FedRAMP-required documentation such as Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M) and security reports, incorporating AI tools for automation and efficiency.
Minimum Requirements
U.S. Citizenship Required: Due to the nature of the work and federal government requirements (e.g., FedRAMP compliance), only U.S. citizens are eligible for this position.
Demonstrated eagerness to grow in cloud security and federal compliance.
Familiarity with AWS services and foundational security principles.
Proficiency with Linux systems and command-line tools.
Understanding of networking fundamentals and cybersecurity concepts.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to operate effectively in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment.
Openness to AI tools and automation for enhancing workflows.
CompTIA Security+ or equivalent entry-level security certification.
A service-oriented mindset when engaging with internal stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of FedRAMP frameworks and related documentation practices.
Experience with SIEM platforms (Sumo Logic preferred) and detection rule development.
Familiarity with EDR/XDR platforms, especially CrowdStrike Falcon.
Experience with vulnerability management tools such as Tenable.io, Burp Suite, and Nmap.
Understanding of NIST standards (SP 800-53, SP 800-171, Cybersecurity Framework).
Exposure to compliance automation tools and methodologies.
Interest in AI/ML applications within cybersecurity operations.
AWS certifications (e.g., Cloud Practitioner, Security Specialty).
Knowledge of CI/CD practices and security integration.
Experience working in government or regulated industry environments.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field—or equivalent experience.
Compensation:
This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed below. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This role might also be eligible for a commission or performance-based bonus
