Job Summary  

The Mobile Behavioral Health Therapist I is responsible for providing community-based outpatient mental health and substance use disorder services, including crisis intervention, screening, assessment, individual & groups counseling and care coordination; and outreach support to individuals in the tri-county area. This position collaborates with internal and external community partners and a multi-disciplinary team of BTC providers to ensure the best possible outcomes and care for participants.

• Serves a diverse population effectively, through trauma informed, culturally responsive and evidenced-based approaches to care. 

• Conducts mental health and substance use disorder assessments and makes diagnoses using DSM-V-TR criteria and ASAM PPC 

• Develops individualized service (treatment) plans for BTC participants in consultation with the participant, other BTC providers, the participant’s family (whenever appropriate), and representatives of BTC partner organizations 

• Completes and maintains accurate and same-day treatment documentation including individual service notes; services and supports plans; court reports or reports to probation/parole; assessments; and closure summaries that meet OAR/Medicaid standards 

• Organizes and manages schedule with the goal that a minimum 50% of hours worked are spent providing direct face-to-face services with BTC participants, in the location of their choice in the community. 

• Provision of culturally responsive individual, family and group counseling services congruent with BTC clinical orientation and care models. Maintains fidelity to evidence-based treatment models and practices adopted by BTC 

• Builds relationships in communities that foster trust and connection, as to best support underserved populations and community members   

• Safely engages with individuals who may be under the influence of substances, are currently unhoused, recently released from the hospital, and/or any other high risks needs community members may experience using Assertive Community Treatment and harm reduction principles or care  

• Provides crisis screening, assessment and intervention services to clients to assist in minimizing periods of crisis, severe dysfunction and acute care utilization 

• Engages in care coordination and case management with other service providers internally and externally, and assists clients in developing and accessing natural community supports and community resources 

• Drives and operates the Mobile Behavioral Health Team vehicles safely in the community 

• Attends and actively participates in individual and group supervision, weekly MDT & Staff meetings, and other agency meetings as assigned  

• Completes agency assigned training requirements on a timely basis and maintains licensing requirements necessary for the position and agency requirements.  Attends seminars, training, and other educational opportunities in order to develop skills and abilities. 

• Abides by agency policies and procedures and all relevant state and federal regulations and professional ethical standards, including mandatory abuse reporting, and HIPPA requirements.
