• About the Position: This Physician (Family Practice) position is located at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California.This is a Direct Hire SolicitationMedical malpractice liability insurance is not required for federal civilian healthcare providers as they are covered by the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. § 1346(b)) while acting within the scope of their employment.

Responsibilities

 

 

Major Duties

• Serve as the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) team leader providing comprehensive outpatient care for TRICARE beneficiaries ranging from newborn to geriatric age presenting with acute and chronic conditions.
• Provide Pre-and Post Deployment health assessments as well as Preventive Health Assessments (PHA).
• Provide direct primary outpatient care to include gynecologic, prenatal obstetric, pediatric, and geriatric care.
• Perform ambulatory surgical procedures including but not limited to casting/splinting, suturing, excisional skin biopsies, vasectomies, colposcopy with biopsies, joint aspiration and injections, IUD and Nexplanon insertion/removal, etc.
• Order and interpret diagnostic and testing procedures to include laboratory and radiological examinations.
• Formulate full treatment and management regimens based on sound diagnoses consistent with current and/or evidence-based clinical practice guidelines.
• Provide clinical and administrative leadership to the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) team.
• Serve as member of the professional medical staff and complies with hospital plans and policies to meet the accrediting agency, The Joint Commission (TJC), requirements.
