Project Controls Specialist

Excel Engineering, Inc. is seeking a team-oriented, highly motivated individual for a full-time Project Controls Specialist position. This role supports our power utility client in Minneapolis, MN.

The candidate will provide cost tracking/cost forecasting on our client's major projects within its energy supply department including coal, gas, wind and solar generation. This role will work alongside our client's project managers to keep track of the project financials, the health of those financials, and the project by submitting monthly forecast accruals. This role will be focused on cost and/or scheduling.

This is a Hybrid-Remote role. The candidate will be expected to be in the office at least 1 day per week.

Requirements

Primary Responsibilities

• Generating reports, assisting with control activities, responding to data requests and developing/maintaining/supporting project schedules and/or detailed cost tracking.
• Coordinates with Project Managers to obtain weekly and monthly cost and schedule updates.
• Assist the Project Managers in providing accurate project forecasting and review of expenditures.
• Attending project meetings (mostly virtual) to stay up to date with client projects.
• Working with external suppliers, such as EPC contractors.

Job Requirements

• Five (5+) plus years of experience in Project Management, Cost Accounting, or Scheduling.
• MS Excel proficiency. Experience with pivot tables and macros strongly preferred.
• SAP Work and Asset Management experience.
• Familiarity with data analytics reporting.
• Strong written and verbal communications.
