KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the overall coordination of maintenance in the plant. Manage the preventative/predictive maintenance and Maintenance Work Order Systems. Ability to contribute to the creation of, and management of budgets related to capital equipment, facility, repair, maintenance and related labor. To optimize the use of all resources in meeting and/or exceeding established plant goals. Be an energetic leader who works with Operations to ensure safety, quality and efficiency are trending in the right direction. Work with Conner Industries’ Core Values in mind.
Requirements
DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS
- Champion sound safety and housekeeping practices while leading by example
- Work closely with management to schedule work that is required by the maintenance team to optimize productivity
- Order parts necessary to complete repairs and keep monthly spending under control and within budget to ensure the factory is operating safely, at the highest quality level
- Prepare work schedules, assign daily work, and oversee the repair work
- Daily verification of task completion and assessment of quality of the work performed
- Participate in identifying hiring needs, employee selection and training process
- Develop maintenance departmental expectations, lead and motivate team members, and identify opportunities for improvement
- Establishes individual goals for team members in alignment with overall organization goals and performs periodic performance reviews to determine progress
- Trains maintenance staff on proper maintenance techniques, procedures, and skills
- Responsible for training of maintenance safety written programs: Lock Out / Tag Out, Electrical Safety, Crane and Hoist, Fall Protection, Haz Mat, etc. Procedural updates as necessary in conjunction with Safety Director and Continuous Improvement Director
- Provide technical support and coaching so that safety and operational procedures relating to company equipment ensure a safe working environment in compliance with company and regulatory standards
- Consistent communication with all levels of employees to assist in resolving problems and achieving company goals
- Participates in interplant cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical problems
- Responsible for driving continuous improvement in Key Maintenance Metrics through:
o Submission of records of all preventive and corrective maintenance performed into the company computer system software (Fiix)
- Manage the work order system and ensuring work requests are completed in a timely fashion
- Accurate and appropriate spare parts inventory, including critical parts
- Develop critical spare parts listing
- Participate in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives, Lean, and Six Sigma
QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- 8+ years of experience in maintenance management or plant engineering in a manufacturing environment, lumber experience is a plus
- 4+ years people management experience required
- Experience with Industrial Automation is preferred
- Great communicator and experience building/working in a team environment
- Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices.
- Must manage production equipment spare key parts inventory to optimum levels
- Industrial experience in the repair and maintenance of production equipment. Electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills are a must.
- Strong on Variable Frequency Drives (VFD’s)
- Electrical experience should consist of 240v/480v, AC/DC drives, single/three phase wiring practices, familiar with all safety regulations and NEC codes and requirements.
- Strong planning, organization and time management skills
- Must be able to diagnose problems, identify needs for improvement, and implement and adapt to change
- Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
