What You’ll Do

As a Senior Clinical Supply Chain Consultant, you will:

  • Work closely with clients in the life sciences industry combining people, processes, technology, and controls to streamline and improve operational effectiveness, lower costs, reduce redundancy, and lower risks
  • Focus on supporting start-up to well established ‘big pharma’ to assess, develop, implement, and improve processes related to early stage to phase 4 clinical trials and Technical Operations/CMC
  • Develop best in class, agile, right sized, scalable processes providing your expertise to enable the client to make fact-based decisions
  • Focus on clinical supply chain management including manufacturing, distribution, logistics, procurement, sourcing, inventory planning and management
  • Work on projects such as assessing and improving CMC operations, developing standard ways of working with CMO/CTL and Clinical Operations, writing Playbooks and supporting organizational transformation. Other areas of work can include material strategy and control, risk mitigation, clinical supply planning, transitioning from clinical to commercial.
  • Earn trusted client status and develop relationships that extend beyond the project’s lifecycle
  • Conduct knowledge transfer and training of end-users, including sharing best practices
  • Provide guidance to junior analysts and client personnel assigned to projects

Travel Requirement

Travel is an integral part of this role and is estimated to average 30-50%. This may vary based upon client and project needs. While travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19 restrictions, all non-essential travel has been limited and any on-site requests are subject to review. When not traveling, consultants work from their home office. Relocation is not required.

What We're Looking For:

An ideal Senior Clinical Supply Chain Consultant candidate will have gained experience in one or more of the following:

  • Supply chain performance measures for planning, execution, and financials. Understanding to include standard definitions and industry performance benchmarks. Describe performance tradeoffs that companies may choose and how those decisions are connected to the broader business
  • Cross-functional operating models typically referred to as Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) or Integrated Business Planning (IBP)
  • Understand the process objectives, relevant monthly cycle of meetings, and positive meeting behaviors and ensuring the desired analytical reporting
  • Demand planning for a significant product portfolio, guide through common accuracy challenges (e.g. stakeholder bias) and actions taken to improve the forecasting process over time
  • Supply planning across multiple network tiers: finished goods, components, materials, local and global
  • Collaboration with internal and external partners to enhance supply performance
  • Experience with business cases for the investment in an advanced planning system is desirable

Additional qualifications:

  • A minimum of five (5) years relevant professional industry clinical supply chain experience or consulting
  • Minimum degree requirement: bachelor’s in Supply Chain, Pharmacy, Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, or other scientific/technical degrees or significant job-related experience
  • Experience working with CMO and CRO, forecasting, developing supply strategies, packaging
