THTR UN3200 DIRECTING I
Job Description
Instruct students in the evolution of the director's role in Europe and the US, including the study of important figures, with emphasis on text analysis, and varied schools of acting in relation to directing practice. Students will gain a foundation in composing stage pictures and using stage movement to tell a story. All students will direct at least one fully-realized scene.
Teaching one section of Directing I (limited to 15 undergraduate students).
• Preparing assignments, assessments, and course material as needed for the course.
• Grading assignments, projects, papers, presentations, and providing students with valuable and timely feedback.
• Developing or updating modules in Canvas to enhance the student learning experience.
Pay Rate: $13,250
Exact instructional assignments and other academic responsibilities are determined by the Chair or Director.
Skills, Qualifications & Requirements:
Required Qualifications
MFA or equivalent and at least one year of college teaching. Professional directing experience required. Terminal degree in a related discipline, with all requirements for the degree completed by the time of hiring offer.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
