POSITION SUMMARY


Perform design of production drawings for panel shop fabrication. Assist in design of panels based on client request and input from BLS staff. Set up and manage CNC and wire production equipment.


ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for design of shop drawings from customer drawings to panel shop fabrication drawings.
  • Work with client representatives, BLS sales team, and panel shop supervisors in the final design of shop drawings for fabrication shop staff to complete customer panel builds.
  • Ability to meet established production schedule based on client deadlines for production drawings.
  • Ability to adjust/make changes to drawings with short notice from the client or supervisor/sales team for import into CNC/WT equipment.
  • Draft and export of files for CNC milling and wire terminal equipment in a timely fashion.
  • Train assembly technicians in the maintenance and use of the milling CNC and Wire Terminal Equipment.
  • Custom design and fabrication of industrial control panels, junction boxes, and solar power skids using EPlan, Auotcad, and Solidworks.
  • Create document package for panel assembly containing:
  • Complete panel layout with schematics.
  • Duct measurement (lengths and duct size).
  • Wire termination list to include length of conductors and label identification.
  • Understanding of electricity and electrical wiring as applied to industrial controls applications.
  • Comply with all work safety procedures, company policies, and OSHA rules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

COMPETENCIES

  • Proficient with E-Plan (and similar CAD software) for drafting panel layouts and wiring schematics
  • Strong ability to read and interpret production blueprints, diagrams, electrical circuits, and schematics
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu (or equivalent markup/PDF-editing tools)
  • Skilled in drafting and exporting files for Rittal Perforex CNC machines and Rittal wire-terminal equipment
  • Knowledge of programming, setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance for CNC and wire-terminal systems
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, physical strength, and manual dexterity
  • Competent use of both hand tools and power tools
  • Accurate color vision for proper wire identification
  • Excellent teamwork, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel)
  • Fluent in English (spoken, written, and reading)
  • Physical stamina: able to stand for long periods and lift, push, or pull up to 60 lbs
  • Skilled in safe forklift operation

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS

  • 2–4 years of hands-on manufacturing or production experience, preferably in an electrical fabrication or controls environment
  • Ability to work a 45–50 hour workweek
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related) or equivalent technical education
  • (Optional) Certification or formal training in CAD/CAM software, CNC operations, or electrical controls tools, as applicable
  • Forklift operator certification preferred
