About the Role

We are in search of a Manager, Accounts Receivable & Operations, who will oversee the full customer payment lifecycle to ensure timely collection of incoming payments and maintain accurate customer account records. This role will develop effective credit and collection strategies and collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimize cash flow and minimize bad debt. This people-oriented, organized, and detailed individual will be the face of our customer billing experience and will provide support and solutions to our clients regarding account balance collection activities. This role will also work with service delivery departments to help perform regular reconciliation of customer credits, debts, and month-to-month account balances to ensure accurate record-keeping of customer accounts and credit lines. This individual demonstrates an autonomous and dependable work ethic, consistently delivering results that team leaders can rely on.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with new customer onboarding including, but not limited to, setting up payment profiles for new customers to establish a means of collecting payments
  • Process payments from clients and perform reconciliation between amounts invoiced and amounts paid
  • Develop and implement collections strategies to reduce outstanding receivables and improve cash flow
  • Monitor customer payment behaviors and autonomously flag at-risk accounts and developing high-risk situations to internal leadership
  • Collaborate with clients, finance and accounting to resolve billing disputes and customer inquiries
  • Manage communication with internal stakeholders and clients surrounding overdue payments to ensure timely resolution
  • Perform customer credit evaluations and set credit limits as needed
  • Analyze receivables aging reports and prepare regular status reports for leadership
  • Drive process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in accounts receivable operations
  • Work with operations team members on internal cash flow and revenue recognition projects
  • Proactively iterate customer-facing messaging to ensure engagement, which establishes and maintains relationships with key customer points of contact 
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of customer purchase orders, and collaborate with internal billing teams on a monthly basis to facilitate accurate application of invoices to the proper purchase orders

About You

The essentials:

  • 2+ years experience in either customer care, sales, collections, or interacting with a customer base
  • Effective communication (both written and verbal)
  • Strong problem-solving and solution-oriented analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets (including Vlookups, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Attention to detail with an eye for accuracy
  • A patient, polite, and friendly attitude
  • Creative, self-disciplined, and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency
  • A quick and flexible learner with a motivated and positive work ethic
  • Ability to receive feedback and apply coaching
  • A team player who can collaborate with colleagues from different departments towards a common goal for customers
  • Willingness to collaborate on process improvement projects and a constant desire to improve existing systems

Not a must, but a plus:

  • Proficiency with AR tools/software (e.g. YayPay)
  • Experience in and/or knowledge of the digital marketing industry
