We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied internship in the area of data science - digital product offering.
To take our digital products to the next level, the BMW GROUP's analytics team for digital product offerings is looking for a data science intern to empower BMW's product teams with actionable data insights. As an intern, you will be part of a network of analysts who support cross-functional agile product teams designing, developing, operating, and optimizing products with data, tools, and analytics.
What awaits you?
- By joining BMW GROUP's analytics team for digital product offerings, you will gain extensive insights into a globally operating network.
- You support our team in deriving recommendations for actions to improve our digital products and the overall digital product portfolio.
- You will leverage the underlying usage data for generating actionable insights for the product teams.
- You independently create advanced analytics methods, implement Data Science and Machine Learning use cases.
- You will handle datasets with several terabytes in size, using cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, PySpark)
- You will be an integral team member, responsible for various projects, and your contribution will directly impact our products.
- You will act as a consultant recommending the latest trends in the Data Science field and work with other top consultancies to help build in-house competencies.
- Explore potential Generative AI projects and develop proof-of-concepts as relevant.
What should you bring along?
- Currently enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited college or university studying Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Data Science (Master's Degree preferred), or similar programs or in a Gap Year.
- Proven experience as a Data Scientist, Data Analyst, Data Engineer, or similar role.
- Strong mathematical and statistical skills, with the ability to analyze, interpret, and handle complex and very large data sets.
- Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL, PySpark, Kotlin, JavaScript) and frameworks such as Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
- Knowledge of Cloud-Architecture and Data Engineering systems (i.e., AWS, Azure, Palantir Foundry, Spark) and ML Ops Frameworks (I.e., MLFlow, Airflow) is beneficial.
- Experience in E-Commerce platforms such as Google & Adobe Analytics is a plus.
