Department Overview

The mission of the Information Technology Group (ITG) is to develop, implement and maintain technology- based services and solutions enabling OHSU to effectively manage information to accomplish its missions.

 

ITG employees are responsible for the security of OHSU technology. In exercising their duties, ITG employees must follow OHSU's security directives, incorporating security measures in the delivery of their everyday tasks, and are required to report security concerns to the OHSU Integrity Office and/or ITG Security Engineering team.

 

All ITG employees must observe due care, objectivity and respect for confidentiality. Employees must keep confidential what they hear and what they see when handling, reviewing, or observing: communications and records thereof (calls, email, pages, fax, etc.), data transmission, databases, or other forms of information Confidentiality extends to the identities of the parties of the communications, and even to the fact that the communication took place. When sharing information, consider whether the recipient has a true “business need to know.”

 

This position will apply knowledge and best practices to assist end users with production support and the development of enhancements for Oracle Release 12 eBusiness suite HRMS and time keeping applications. This position will:

• Understand of general HR and Payroll business processes and HCM/Oracle EBS and related applications to help drive recommendations for process improvements.
• Assist and/or develop test cases and scripts and thoroughly test fixes, enhancements, and patches prior to release into user testing. Document and communicate preliminary testing results.
• Translate technical specifications and requirements into informative, user-friendly test plans for end- user acceptance testing.
• Work with assigned departments to document user-friendly testing of system/interface requirements, make design recommendations to meet quality assurance requirements and project schedule.
• Monitor information technology output for quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
• With support from a Senior Oracle Business Analyst or Senior Oracle Developer:
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide end user support via the telephone and email.
  • Provide analytical support for customers by evaluating and documenting requirements and reviewing and tracking projects.

Function/Duties of Position

System Analysis and Design:

With the guidance and support of a Senior Oracle Business Analyst or Oracle Technical Lead:

• Troubleshoot production issues and provide user support via the telephone and email. 
• Develop plans to correct problems that may include modifications to user procedures, user data entry instructions, user training, and/or database correction proposals.
• Maintain a problem/issues log and communicate problem status. 
• Work with customers to document specifications / requirements for enhancements and fixes to systems, applications, reports, and interfaces.
• Analyze requirements and design solutions to meet customer needs for enhancements and fixes to systems, applications, reports and interfaces. Provide level of effort estimates to support resource planning. 
• Upon customer request, complete analysis to quantify the extent of system changes required for issues related to collective bargaining.

Quality Assurance Process:

• Ensure that proper quality assurance standards are applied throughout the software development lifecycle. Manage work requests from initiation through close. 
• Work with assigned departments to document user-friendly testing of system/interface requirements, make design recommendations to meet quality assurance requirements and project schedule.
• Assist and/or develop test cases and scripts and thoroughly test fixes, enhancements, and patches prior to release into user testing. Document and communicate preliminary testing results.
• Translate technical specifications and requirements into informative, user-friendly test plans for end-user acceptance testing.
• Help to ensure data integrity and validity of applications and reports.
• Work with Oracle technical support to facilitate the application of patches and the timely resolution of Service Requests.
