General Notes

The projected end date for this assignment is November 6th, 2026. Please note: W hile the administrative office is at Pickle Research Campus, the job will be located on the main UT campus in various classrooms on campus.

Purpose

To provide administrative and teaching support to staff and to support program participants who are young adults with disabilities attending an employment program (E4Texas) on the UT-Austin campus.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting students with disabilities in a classroom setting Walking/navigating the UT campus to assist students in getting to class and other campus locations. Using the Cap Metro bus to help students get to Volunteer sites in the Austin Community.  Using a variety of technology tools: Slack, Box, Google Suite products, use of Microsoft Office products to manage student schedules.

  • And to provide support for young adults with disabilities Engaging in Community Outreach about our program (materials are already developed) and using interpersonal skills with parents and professionals.  Taking meeting notes Maintaining/Updating Student schedules for the program.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, one year of experience at the Administrative Assistant level, or high school graduation or GED, and five years of clerical experience. Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities or other disabilities/support needs. Able to walk/navigate the main campus in supporting students with disabilities to get to class/be successful in class.  Able to provide teaching assistance/teaching support in class to students to complete assignments.  Understand how to use basic office/ technology tools as previously described.  Have good interpersonal/team skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities or other disabilities/support needs.

Hourly Rate

$23.00

Working Conditions

  • Attire: Business Casual

  • Standard Office Environment, Use of manual dexterity, Repetitive use of keyboard at a workstation.

Work Shift

  • Hours per week - 40

  • Hours will fall within the time frame of 8:00am -8:00pm; however, it will mainly be standard hours 8:00am - 5:00pm but there are some days in which the hours may vary IF the candidate is available and interested in doing some evening hours. Not required but an option.
