Senior IT Data Engineer

<p><span><b>Introduction to the job</b></span></p><p>In this role you will be responsible for the <span>design, build and</span> the technical support of our analytics solutions built on mostly MS <span>Azure and Databricks.</span> You will be part of a team building and supporting ASML’s Data &amp; Analytics services, focused <span>on a specific</span> ASML sector. In addition, you will be part of one of our DevOps teams, working together in a Scaled Agile (SAFe) environment. We share a mission to deliver business value for <span>our D&amp;E stakeholders,</span> specifically for Wafer Table and Wafer Clamps, using modern data analytics technology. </p><p></p><p><span><b>Role and responsibilities</b></span></p><p>Within the Chief Data Office department as a senior data engineer, you’ll be part of a group of best-in-class engineers, organized in Agile teams. Our mission is to translate ASML’s business challenges into Data &amp; Analytics solutions. This is realized by building Azure pipelines and data connections in <span>Spotfire.  </span><br/> <br/>ASML is a crucial player in a fast <span>moving semiconductor</span> industry, which means <span>change is constantly</span> around. You will work with your team to capture the constant and dynamic refinement of business priorities and translate them <span>into data and analytics</span> user stories. You are looked upon, and rewarded for, being <span>able to constantly</span> switch between business value and technical implementation. Together with your team you will work to drive ASML’s ambition by building data pipelines and datasets in Databricks. </p><p></p><p>As senior data engineer, you’ll:</p><ul><li><p><span>Align with stakeholders, architects, and</span> team members on design challenges and choices made to address the business <span>requirements. Furthermore,</span> you align <span>and identify dependencies</span> and ensure that the team executes according to business requirements</p></li><li><p>You’re able to navigate yourself, together with <span>your team,  in a</span> complex work <span>environment. Besides,</span> you should be able to have strong cognitive and communication skills; be able to clearly explain complex technical concepts to non-technical <span>stakeholders, demonstrate strong</span> analytical thinking and problem solving under <span>pressure and manage</span> expectations across teams</p></li></ul><p></p><p><span><b>Education and experience</b></span></p><p>To help us tackle the technical challenges we face, you’ll need experience working on Hightech products and with complex processes. As senior data engineer, you’ll need:</p><ul><li><p>A strong software and/or <span>data engineering</span> background and preferably a Master in Computer Science or equivalent</p></li><li><p>At least 4 years of experience in working as a <span>Data engineer or</span> Cloud engineer, preferably working in a highly <span>complex environment</span> like ASML  </p></li><li><p><span>Knowledge of architectural frameworks i.e. Togaf,</span> modelling tools like Archimate and 2+ years (hands-on) experience in designing and building both batch and streaming <span>architectures  </span></p></li><li><p>Data modelling experience on non-business process data domains (e.g. IoT, machine data)  and hands on experience with cloud native services <span>like Databricks, Azure</span> Data Factory  </p></li><li><p><span>Experience with CI/CD</span> pipelines in Azure DevOps, Kubernetes/AKS and Docker, Python &amp; PySpark (4+ years) and deep knowledge of spark runtime internals </p></li><li><p>SQL 4+ years: SQL background, understanding the concepts of OLAP/BI querying patterns, and has practical knowledge in creating these solutions to support this.  </p></li><li><p>Experience with storage formats such as parquet and delta lake and experience working with Agile Release trains, GIT&amp; API development <span>is desirable </span></p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Skills</span> </b><br/>Working at the cutting edge of tech, you’ll always have new challenges and new problems to solve – and working together is the only way to do that.
