About the role

Strategic Role Definition 

The Infrastructure Senior PMO ensures the successful governance and delivery of IT infrastructure programs and projects that underpin the organization’s digital backbone. This role aligns infrastructure initiatives—such as data center modernization, network upgrades, cloud migrations, and cybersecurity enhancements—with strategic business objectives. Acting as a trusted advisor, the Senior PMO drives standardization, risk control, and operational excellence across all infrastructure projects.

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Infrastructure Program Governance
    Define and enforce PMO standards for infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with security, performance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Portfolio & Resource Management
    Oversee prioritization of infrastructure initiatives, balancing capacity planning and resource allocation across global teams.
  • Risk & Resilience Management
    Identify and mitigate risks related to system availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
  • Financial Control
    Manage infrastructure budgets (hardware, software, cloud services), validate investment cases, and track ROI.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    Communicate progress and risks to CIO, IT leadership, and business stakeholders; provide clear dashboards and escalation paths.
  • Technology Lifecycle Oversight
    Ensure timely refresh of infrastructure components and alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Continuous Improvement
    Drive automation, standardization, and adoption of best practices in infrastructure delivery.

 

Skills and specifications:

  • Deep understanding of IT infrastructure domains: networking, servers, storage, virtualization, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), and cybersecurity. 
  • Strong program management and governance expertise. 
  • Ability to manage complex, multi-site infrastructure projects under strict SLAs. 
  • Proficiency in risk management and compliance frameworks (ISO, ITIL). 
  • Advanced communication and stakeholder management skills. 
  • Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring and reporting tools.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or Engineering; Master’s degree preferred. 
  • Experience: 10+ years in IT infrastructure projects, with at least 3–5 years in PMO leadership roles. 
  • Certifications: PMP or PRINCE2; ITIL certification highly desirable; Cloud certifications (Azure/AWS) are a plus. 
  • Languages: English required; additional European languages advantageous.
